Delhi was once called "Dil of India", for its beautiful people, and the city with a vast history.
Not easy to forget is the fact that, Delhi oops..Dilli.. was the second city to take the pride of Metro rail in India.
The city always kept itself abreast in developments, from politics to Technology..
In the last few days, we have seen the other face of Dilli..Almost 7 killed and 13 injured in construction sites.
Alarming, also is that the mishaps happened on the same place, where it happened.
People employed to clean the debris of a mishap become victims of another mishap.
DMRC(Delhi Metro Rail Corp) now alleges that the construction company Gammon India Ltd is responsible for the deaths.
The counter talk states that, DMRC was in a rush to get the project rolling.
Now, the real question guys, who is responsible? Gammon or DMRC...I view it as both..
Since, Gammon had agreed to a date of delivery, it was the sole responsibility of Gammon to manage the project and deliver on time.
However the security also must have been a part of the agreement.
Having said that, DMRC was also equally responsible to oversee the developments and the security of the site work.
In this war of words, both the organizations have made sure, they get the much sought for advertisement.
No one ever thought of what has gone on the families of each of the ones who died. Who knows how many who died were the sole bread winners of the family.
Who cares, how many lives were dependent on each of the workers. Hard to forget are the ones who got injured. May be few have become physically challenged after the mishap.
Does anyone here look for a count of workers who lost their vital organs, needed to support work?
I bet no one did. Neither did DMRC, nor has Gammon come up with a plan to handle this.
How many days will we die for our employers with no returns?
I don’t want to ask this question to you, my readers. Reason being, I feel ashamed when I ask this question in the current context to myself.
I stand speechless and certainly helpless.
Media has to take this question up, and help the needy the much needed rescue.
